Builder expectation

You will not only work leads and close deals. You are expected to build the sales machine you run: use AI agents to automate every stage of your own process so one seller operates with the output of a full team. Design the automations, build them, use them daily, and own them through iteration.

The role

You will be Bluefyn's first dedicated sales hire and will own revenue, working alongside founder-led sales, with AI agents in your daily work. This is a hands-on builder role, not a lead-list-and-quota position. As the company grows, you will define the sales playbook, hire the team, and lead it while remaining a hands-on seller close to customers.

What you'll do

  • Own revenue. Run the full sales cycle: prospect into target accounts, qualify, run discovery and demos, structure pilots, negotiate commercials, and close. Co-sell where founder presence matters, take over deals from the founder-led motion, and progressively own the pipeline end to end. Carry a number and hit it.
  • Run expert-level discovery. Your buyers live in provider contracts, fee schedules, FX flows, and billing operations. Understand their world well enough to be credible in the first ten minutes and to find the pain they have stopped noticing.
  • Max out agents across your process. Build and run AI agents for every stage: account and stakeholder research, pre-call briefs, note capture and CRM updates, follow-up drafting, proposal generation, pilot tracking, and pipeline hygiene. Your admin work should trend toward zero, and you validate every output before it reaches a prospect or a decision.
  • Run pilots that convert. Define success criteria with the customer up front, coordinate data and onboarding with the team, prove value using the customer's own numbers, and convert pilots into contracts.
  • Own commercial execution. Drive proposals, pricing conversations, negotiation, procurement, and security and legal reviews without losing momentum, and hand closed deals cleanly into onboarding.
  • Keep the CRM honest. Real stages, real amounts, real next steps, and a forecast people can trust. Clean data is non-negotiable, because we sell data accuracy.
  • Feed the machine. Bring win/loss insight, objections, competitive intelligence, and unmet needs back to product and GTM, and sharpen the messaging with what you hear in real conversations.
  • Build the future function. Turn what works into a playbook that lives in tools rather than slide decks, then hire, mentor, and lead the sales team as Bluefyn scales.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of full-cycle closing experience. B2B software sales in fintech, payments, or to finance buyers, with a track record of hitting quota on complex deals where the buyer is an expert and a wrong claim has a real cost. You are comfortable in rooms with CFOs and finance operations leaders.
  • Multi-stakeholder deal craft. You can run structured evaluations and navigate finance, technical, procurement, and legal stakeholders through long cycles.
  • Builder-level tooling fluency. You are hands-on with CRMs, data, and automation platforms, and with AI assistance you can build and maintain the automations that run your own process. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you must ship things that work.
  • An AI-native working style. You already run coding agents and other agentic tools for real work, understand orchestration, guardrails, human approval, and common failure modes, and know where automation must stop and human judgment must take over.
  • Practical fintech understanding. You know transaction lifecycles, pricing, fees, FX, and billing well enough to hold a credible conversation with a finance leader. Deep payments expertise is not required on day one, but the ambition to build it is.
  • High ownership and startup range. Your numbers are real and your claims are accurate, and you are comfortable in a fast-moving, venture-funded stealth startup with broad ownership and limited process.

Nice to have

  • First-sales-hire experience. You have built a sales motion from scratch alongside founders and know how to add leverage without adding friction.
  • Payments domain depth. You understand interchange, scheme fees, MSAs, FX margin, or provider pricing well enough to speak the buyer's language.
  • Technical and GTM engineering exposure. You are comfortable in conversations about APIs, data, and integration scoping, and you have worked with tools like Clay, sequencers, and enrichment systems that plug into our GTM machine.
  • A network in fintech. Existing relationships with payments companies, PSPs, or fintech finance leaders.
  • Early leadership experience. You have mentored AEs or SDRs and can grow into formal team leadership.

Why this role

  • A true founding seat. Define how the company sells and earns trust from the beginning, with a clear path to Head of Sales as the company and team expand.
  • Selling is credibility work. Finance teams use Bluefyn to verify what they are being charged. Vague claims and sloppy follow-through would contradict the product. The way you sell is part of what customers are buying.
  • Small senior team. Work directly with the founders and engineers, with broad ownership and minimal bureaucracy.
